Description

The art of stimulating points on the hands and feet that correspond to specific areas in the body. This has been practice from ancient times through today. The ancient Egyptians created hieroglyphics depicting reflexology. Reflexology is a form of bodywork that is non invasive and beneficial for most people.

About the Instructor

Joseph has been a Certified Massage Therapist since 1993 and has practiced throughout the central Virginia area since that time. In 1996 he founded the American Institute of Massage and is its current president. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Pre-physical Therapy, Joseph has furthered hiseducational course work and holds certificates in many massage modalities including: Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, ReflexologyPost-isometric Relaxation, Shiatsu, ui na, Pregnancy Massage, Infant Massage, Aroma Therapy, Massage and Ethics, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage.

Additionally, Joseph has studied various martial arts for 15 years and advanced to his Third Degree Black belt in 2001. Joseph also practices Yoga and is a student of several eastern schools of philosophy.

A majority of the course work at the Institute is taught by Mr. Schibner and he believes - "to teach is to touch a life forever".
